Founder's Story
Anna grew up as the eldest of five sisters on a council estate in East London. Gifted and talented throughout school but without the tools to explore the career paths available she had to work her way up the long and hard way.
The idea for Shine AI came when she took two young people—both had dropped out of school—to a youth careers fair in London. They were looking for hope, for direction, for opportunities. Instead, they found no tools, no support, nothing made for people like them. On the way home, the teens talked about how lost and unseen they felt. They didn’t know what they wanted to do. They didn’t have a plan. They didn’t have the confidence to start figuring it out on their own. They weren’t looking for cold, one-size-fits-all advice—they needed guidance that was personal, adaptable and guidance to opportunities tailor made for them.
They needed what Anna once needed too.
With nearly a decade of experience in recruitment, matching people to jobs in everything from tech to agriculture, medicine to aerospace, Anna knew she could do more than just listen—she could build something. Something that could help millions of young people.
That’s when Shine AI was born.
